Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst role is a key leadership role with responsibility that spans across the finance portfolio and is an integral member of the Finance team responsible to provide financial leadership as it pertains to various provincial finance portfolios. The Senior Financial Analyst – Accounts Receivable will work in collaboration with the accounts receivable team to support the business operations of the service and to help advance strategic initiatives and business change resulting in improved processes and stronger revenue streams for the organization. This can involve establishing business systems and processes to ensure the portfolio and organizational performance targets are met. Duties will include collaboration with others to identify opportunities, project planning and execution, and implementation of identified solutions for maximum benefits. Duties may also include financial and system analysis, efficiency analysis, implementing strategies for cost control of complex situations and initiatives requiring action and support from the finance team. Much of this work will include direct consultation and review with leaders including clinical and support service teams across the NSHA, in addition to a high level of collaboration with the Accounts Receivable team.

The Accounts Receivable Team has a long term vision for this service which maximizes cash conversion to support healthcare in Nova Scotia. Current and future innovation includes: Robotics Process Automation (RPA), online payment platform, payment at point of service, innovative processing and collection strategies.

Reporting to the Manager of Accounts Receivable, the Senior Financial Analyst will be strategically focused, and responsible to provide financial and project related support as follows:

  • Supports NSHA Finance Management team by providing expertise in project related planning, budgeting, execution and implementation.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external relationships with teams, customers and government departments and agencies.
  • Provide direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization and various stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities Continued

  • Analyzes activities/processes with a view towards identifying enhancement opportunities to improve processes.
  • Provides strategic advice to the management team on accounts receivable opportunities and issues.
  • Develop project plans and associated communication documents. Assists the Accounts Receivable team with change management.
  • Supports the management of the Accounts Receivable team with expertise, insight and achievement of their goals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or accounting program
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Enrolment or completion of accounting designation considered an asset
  • Minimum of Five (5) to Seven (7) years strong senior level functional finance experience
  • Possesses a strong understanding and level of experience in Accounts Receivable processes and key performance

indicators

  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Highly knowledgeable of SAP, Meditech or STAR or another ERP accounting system including in particular knowledge of its Accounts Receivable functions. Highly knowledgeable of how the technical aspects of these systems relate to or impact Accounts Receivable business processes.
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to

respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of an organization

  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and

attention to detail.

Hours of Work

  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • This position will be located at the Primebrook Building in Sydney, NS

Salary Information

$34.0694 – $42.5865 hourly
