Job description: A TorontoJobs.ca client in the import and distribution industry, located in midtown Toronto, is on a search for a Junior Logistics Coordinator to join the Logitics team in handling offshore and US imports.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate with international (US and other countries) supplier to obtain product shipment dates
• Review and approve shipping documentation including applicable certificates, bills of lading and other related forms
• Correspond and liase with internal staff to keep them informed of product shipments, issues etc.
• Maintain and update supplier files for purchase orders, invoices, adjustments, and deliveries
• Approve supplier invoices for payment and update payment schedule in coordination with the Logistics Team
• Adjust purchase orders if required
• Arrange delivery of product from the port/rail yard to the warehouse
• Notify and work with supplier to resolve any problems identified with the container up to the point it is delivered to the warehouse
• Maintain electronic files for all shipping documentation
• Provide backup support to the Logistics Team
• Verify the sample request form provided by QA, Sale or Purchasing
• Coordinate the import of sample shipments with the supplier and custom broker
• Prepare the CFIA permit to import
• Approve supplier documentation
• Update tracking spreadsheet
• Approve custom broker’s invoice

Job Requirements:

• 1-2 years of related experience
• Has obtained or would be willing to obtain a CIFFA Certificate in International Transportation & Trade; Essentials of Freight Forwarding
• Strong organizational skills
• Very detailed oriented
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong working knowledge of computer systems including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong customer service skils, both internal and external
