Job description: What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for the development of the 3-5 year Market Plan for the physical distribution and footprint of RBC retail and commercial accomplished by partnering and working effective with key business, functional and external partners to develop an overall geographic market plan including market presence and coverage of our physical distribution.

What will you do?

• Responsible for the strategic planning of the physical network (includes branches, business banking centres, Private Banking Offices, AC Hubs , self-serve banking) as part of the transformation the physical network and alignment of RBC’s market presence to market opportunity
• Accountable for the development of 3-5 year in-depth market presence and coverage model plan for the region(s) and selected prioritized markets. The recommendations will have a significant impact to the existing physical network and the future market opportunities across Canada, and be sequenced for near and longer-term decisions across an integrated blueprint for Growing, Evolving and Thinning the network
• Provide market research for new developments, competitor intelligence and understanding forces of change (demographics, economic, regulatory) and their impact to future planning and considerations to transform the physical network
• Analyze large data sets representing the behaviors of clients relative to branches/and other channels to provide insights to inform strategy of locations, formats and footprint.
• Complete in-depth market and client analysis to determine insights and recommendations. Develops business cases to support financial decisions

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• BAA (Geography)
• BAA (Urban and Regional Planning)
• A. Diploma (Business Geography)
• Cert (Geographic Information Systems Applications Specialist)
• Experience in Real Estate development
• Previous external geo-spatial/GIS experience required

Nice to have:

• MA (Urban and Economic Geography)
