A Day in the Life

  • Install, rigs and removes crane attachments.
  • Determines safe lifting capacities.
  • Directs operational maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Operate mobile crane to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials;
  • Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight.
  • Perform routine maintenance work as needed.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment.
  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations.
  • Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
  • Comply with applicable legislation including Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR), safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration and weights and dimensions.
  • Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Deliver to product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
  • Maintain trucks overall service and perform required inspections.

What We Are Seeking

  • Certified and licensed Mobile Crane Truck Operator.
  • Ability to work with a Hydraulic or telescoping boom.
  • Exceptionally high level of Hand-Eye coordination.
  • Knowledge of Flynn Safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various construction Hoisting processes.
  • Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Certified and licensed valid AZ & DZ license & clean driving record.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds

  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects as required.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. Hard-Hat, Safety Boots, Reflective Vest, Safety Glasses etc.).
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Requires exceptionally high level of Hand-Eye coordination.
  • Noise level is generally loud.
  • Hazards associated with the construction industry.
  • After Hour and Weekend work may be required
