About the Position

The Manager, Finance will join the Brookfield Private Equity Corporate Controller team (“BPEG CC”) and will report into the Corporate Controller/Director, Finance. The Manager will be responsible for managing BPEG’s corporate legal entities books and records, the related D365 ERP system, and the consolidated financial results into BBU and BAM quarterly financial reports. The Manager will work across all levels of the BAM organization including teams in other jurisdictions and functions. The Manager will also lead various projects, including but not limited to complex transactions and process improvements. .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of the setup and maintenance of BBU-C from start to finish, including:
  • Conceptualizing and implementing processes for BBU-C
  • Maintenance of the related legal entities
  • Consolidation of those results into the BBU-C and BBU public financials
  • Owning the management fees process for both BBU and BBU-C
  • Preparing analytics and presentation materials to the CFO pertaining to BBU-C
  • Working with various teams (reporting team, tax team, legal) to come up with recommendations on issues as they arise for BBU-C
  • Oversee the BBU corporate consolidations, related submissions and management fees
  • Review and manage related legal entities including review of journal entries and reconciliations, and preparation of standalone financial statements
  • Review the quarterly hedge workbook and the related submissions
  • Primary liaison with the BBU corporate reporting team and the offshore Bermuda team
  • Oversee D365 master data to ensure it is kept up to date with organizational changes
  • Lead projects and process improvement initiatives as they arise
  • Manages 2 direct reports

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in finance, accounting or related business discipline
  • Completed CPA or related designation
  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in Finance, preferably in a large accounting firm or corporate environment
  • Experience with complex consolidation involving a high number of legal entities
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations
  • Desire to challenge the status quo and continuously improve existing processes with a critical eye as well as leading the implementation for such process improvements
  • Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage priorities while meeting timelines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of working with individuals across various levels and backgrounds
  • Strong managerial background with ability to train and develop individuals within the team
  • Demonstrates a commitment to shared success above personal accomplishment or recognition
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an asset
