Job description: We are currently recruiting for a Finance Administrator to be based in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, BC.

What You’ll Do: You will be responsible for providing support to the Division Controller, while acting as a first point of contact for the Operation in relation to the Accounts Payable function. You will also be involved with preliminary preparations of balance sheet reconciliations, recording month end accruals, and a variety of other ad hoc accounting and analysis projects.

Who You Are: This is a great opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual who has a track record of meeting deadlines while juggling multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and come with 1-3+ years of experience in an office environment and is highly comfortable with using MS Office Suite.

Work Environment: This role is to be performed in person at our Campbell River office on Vancouver Island, BC, with all safety protocols in place.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily processing of Accounts Payable invoices;
  • Participates in month-end duties related to inventory usage, allocations, and production statistics;
  • Preparation and recording of month end accruals;
  • Preparation of Accounts receivable invoices;
  • Preliminary preparation of balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Assist with invoice reconciliation;
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete, and systematic filing system to support accounting and financial records;
  • Provide vacation or backup relief for Assistant Accountant and Payroll functions as required; and
  • Assist in other ad hoc accounting and analysis projects if necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • 1-3+ years of office experience preference in accounting department; and,
  • Business diploma/degree is a strong asset.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Accounting software;
  • Quality business communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Quality organizational, time management and prioritization skills;
  • Efficient and detail oriented while consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Effectively works independently or as part of a team;
  • Self-motivated, creative and an innovative thinker; and,
  • Able to manage a fair amount of workload with little direction or supervision with frequent interruptions.
