ABOUT THE ROLE

When you join our team at TransAlta as a New Graduate, you will rotate through various roles across the organization. Each rotation will give you an opportunity to expand your knowledge, build on your skill set, and develop personal networks within TransAlta. We are currently looking to fill 1 – 2 Business Administration openings to beginning January 2022. This position is a two-year temporary contract. Prior to your completion of the New Grad Program, we will consider fulltime employment opportunities with TransAlta.

RESPONSIBILITIES

New Graduates are immersed into 3 job rotations within their field in order to experience a variety of corporate roles within TransAlta and gain exposure to various lines of business. During each 8-month rotation, responsibilities will vary and you will collaborate with your supervisor to develop performance objectives. Rotations can include, but are not limited to: Commercial Operations, Corporate Development & Strategy, Renewable Development, Finance, and Human Resources.

ABOUT YOU

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent program between 2019 and 2021
  • Exceptional academic performance as evidenced by your GPA
  • Prior work experience obtained through internship, coop or summer jobs is an asset
  • Possesses a results-oriented approach to work
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple work tasks
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Exhibits a strong ability to solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work equally well either within a team or independently with minimal supervision
  • An interest in learning TransAlta’s business
