What are our expectations

The department is an engineering support organization and is involved with rotating component telemetry systems, various sensor applications including strain, vibration, acoustic and pressure measurement. As an engineering technician you will need to have a good electronics background and a good understanding of instrumentation systems and measurement. You will be working closely with engine build teams including Build and test engineers and assembly shop staff. Daily function will include detailed electronics assembly and wire routing within engine components. A knowledge of data acquisition systems is also an asset .

What your day to day will look like

  • Manage equipment , help with inventory and calibration requirements.
  • Provide technical support to the development assembly and test build team for Instrumentation installations. (Installation and routing of applied sensors).
  • Act as the main point of contact for program instrumentation needs.
  • Attend Build and test review meetings to provide guidance for instrumentation applications
  • Coordinate with Measurement engineering group to advise and implement instrumentation improvements.
  • Build, test and repair electronic circuits.
  • Interrogate PW Data acquisition systems to verify and diagnose measurement data analysis. (Vibe and strain data)

The tools you need to be successful:

Must haves:

  • Diploma in electronics engineering technology and or instrumentation. (Applied knowledge of RF Circuits). Eng’g degree an asset.
  • Have a good understanding of measurement systems and practices.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical support role .
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English. Fluency in French, an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of systems and material requirements planning (MRP). Knowledge of SAP, an asset;
  • Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
  • Focus on processes and results;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Team spirit and good interpersonal skills;
  • Autonomy, perseverance and versatility, in addition to a strong business sense;
  • Sense of ethics and respect;
  • Ability to propose new and creative solutions;
