Job title: Manufacturing/ Engineering Systems Analyst

Job description: Brandt is currently seeking a Manufacturing/Engineering Systems Analyst that acts as a liaison between the manufacturing and engineering business community and the technical community working with IT project teams and business clients. They will collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The Manufacturing/Engineering Business Systems Analyst is an active thought partner and application visionary who facilitates and translates the manufacturing and engineering requirements to be implemented in technology solutions meeting the business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into functional and technical requirements
  • Be seen by the manufacturing and engineering business as the person who understands the area and their processes inside and out
  • Critically analyze, evaluate, and document information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding ensuring the user’s needs are met.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal stakeholder to analyze business and data information needs and functional requirements and delivering the appropriate documentation (Eg. Business requirements document, Process Flows, Use Case, Screen &/or interface designs)
  • Conduct initial solution testing and partner with business users to conduct user acceptance testing
  • Document user manuals to describe application installation, configuration and operating procedures
  • Work with Project Managers and other project resources to ensure all tasks are completed on time and value is being delivered to the business
  • Develop and maintain training materials for end users
  • Other duties will be assigned as necessary

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business functionality and translating them into manufacturing and application requirements
  • Ability to create compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
  • Ability to build IT and Business partnerships to foster a collaborative environment to resolve IT and business process issues and/or problems.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 Years of manufacturing experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Demonstrated experience in writing software requirements and test specifications
  • Working knowledge in VBA, SQL, .NET, or advanced Excel formulas, macros, programming
  • Excellent understanding of business and manufacturing complexity and project interdependencies
  • Time management – ability to remain flexible while maintaining critical due dates
  • Ability to travel domestic or international when required
  • Preference given to those who have experience working in a large multi-plant manufacturing environment
