Job description: Our Oil and Gas client is seeking a personable, self starter and eager to learn Technical Services Analyst to provide day to day end user support and administration for IT infrastructure and field operations to a highly agile, fast-paced team! This is an initial 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension or conversion opportunities!

This position is located in Fort St. John, BC with expectations to drive to field operations sites regularly (if not, daily). The successful candidate must be already located in Fort St. John or willing to relocate there, and also be participating in an on-call rotation.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience supporting and resolving IT deskside issues
  • Some corporate experience supporting IT networking issues
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure within field sites
  • Universify Degree in Computer Sciences or relevant discipline (equivalent experience is acceptable as well)
  • Ability to effectively communicate technology, infrastructure and process needs at all staff levels
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Microsoft and/or Cisco related certifications
  • 1+ years’ experience in supporting and resolving IT networking issues
  • Azure or any cloud infrastructure experience
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, diagnostic and analytics tools
  • Experience with managing server, network and telecommunication systems

Specialization and Skills: Help Desk/Entry Level Desktop Support Technician 2 – 4 years

Priority Requirements: As a Technical Services Analyst (or similar), please outline the last position you provided overall infrastructure support to corporate and/or field employees. What technologies did you utilize? Was there a ticketing system? (Must-have)
Have you ever been in a position in which you were faced with a difficult situation, either from a customer or end user? If so, please can you elaborate on the situation in detail and your response. (Must-have)
How have you recently been demonstrating a passion for IT and upcoming technology? (Must-have)

Work Environment: Location: Fort St. John, BC
Industry: Oil and Gas industry
Travel: Daily/Regular travel to operational facilities (20% away from Fort St. John)
Note: You will be required to have a full-time presence in the Fort St. John Office and participate in an on-call rotation.
