About the role:

The Campaign Automation Specialist is passionate and eager about learning, growing, and building a career in enterprise marketing management and automation. They utilize data and technology to solve problems, work collaboratively with partners across the organization as well as external partners and use their knowledge of marketing automation platforms in a consultative nature during design and their expertise for execution. The role requires strong knowledge on databases and working with data, basic to intermediate programming and troubleshooting, requirement gathering and analysis and attention to detail.

The ideal candidates are comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative, and tech-savvy environment and are passionate about digital marketing and automation. They possess strategic thinking ability, aptitude, and a desire to learn new skills and tools as this role provides great learning opportunities on enterprise marketing management with advanced marketing automation platforms and industry leading best practices.

The Campaign Automation specialist must be able to obtain Government Reliability Status, which includes a 5-year background check, to carry out their day-to-day operations. For more information on Reliability Status and eligibility criteria, refer to Government of Canada’s .

What will you do?

  • Plan, set up, and execute digital campaigns in accordance with the strategy and objectives of campaign stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to leverage personas, customer journeys and data strategies to develop and implement marketing automation programs
  • Gather, document, and help form business requirements, key performance indicators, and other functional and technical requirements
  • Create high quality client experience through use of digital channels, interactive journeys and triggered engagements
  • Support stakeholders and third parties throughout the campaign implementation process
  • Interact frequently with stakeholders via phone, email and/or in-person—including interaction with marketers, analysts, web developers, content and creative designers
  • Design, structure and map data sources for marketing solutions
  • Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Some technical writing, report analysis and PowerPoint presentation creation
  • Understand measurement methodologies, why we need them and when to use them (A/B testing, Test/Control etc.)
  • Identify process gaps, efficiencies, refinements and establish new process
  • Gain hands-on experience working with advanced marketing automation platforms, enterprise-level data structures and complex MarTech integrations

What you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor Degree in a field with a strong technical core such as Computer Science, Software engineering, Business Analytics, Engineering Science, Statistics, Math, Business Commerce or equivalent working experience
  • Solid technical foundation (databases (SQL), programming languages (JavaScript), APIs, etc)
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, DOM, CORS and other web standards, technologies & protocols
  • Passion to learn about and work with cutting edge technology in the industry
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.)
  • Capacity to think critically, learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of reporting development/requirements
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and database constructs
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • An interest in process improvement and identification of process gaps.
  • Understanding of contact models (B2C, B2B, B2B2C), concepts, and strategies
  • Knowledge of industry standard and best practices for digital and direct marketing contact management (CASL, prioritization etc.)
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Related work experience in Campaign execution and operations, marketing automation, digital communications, database marketing and data analysis
  • Certification in Adobe Campaign for Business Practitioner, Developer Expert or Architect
  • Marketing Automation tool experience (Adobe Campaign, Unica, IBM Watson/Silverpop/Acoustic, Eloqua, Marketo etc.) and ESP’s
  • Web analytics, web development, development of landing pages and web forms
  • BI platforms for reporting (Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.)
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics or similar tools
  • Marketing resource management tools (Wrike, Workfront etc.)
  • Fluency in English and French

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
