We’re currently looking for a Manager, Group Benefits Administration to join our teams, either in our Surrey, BC or Barrie, ON offices on a hybrid basis. The Manager, Group Benefits oversees and provides direction to a team of Supervisors and Benefit Specialists. You’ll be responsible for driving results and ensuring that the team is empowered to deliver an exceptional benefits experience, meeting the high standards for customer service for our clients, and advisor partners expect.

Outcomes

Within the first 3 months you will:

  • Engage in 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports to understand a day in theirlife
  • Meet with stakeholders throughout the organization to understand how departments interact on a day to day as it pertains to yourrole
  • Review and understand department goals, strategy and KPIs
  • Review and understand multicarrier eligibilityguidelines
  • Review of training material and resources as it pertains to systems(CRM; WEBS and MPACS)andprocesses

Within the first 6 months you will:

  • Develop your leadership brand with directreportsand Client Services Management team
  • Support the growth and professional development of direct reports through coaching
  • Support the team through resolution of escalated matters by providing recommendations and making supported decisions using a risk-basedapproach
  • Developand buildrelationships withall stakeholders (insurers, providers, , direct clients)
  • Have a solid understanding ofclient service expectations
  • Have a workingunderstanding of each GroupHEALTH benefit and productoffering
  • Provide key metric reporting that pertains to the department deliverables andperformance

Within the first 12 months you will:

  • Mentor direct reportsin development and growth
  • Prioritizeand oversee delivery ofprocess improvement ideas,projectsand ongoing trainingfor the team
  • Participate in workforce planning and present recommendations for staffingneeds
  • Workwithotherdepartments to bridge culture acrossteams, increasecross departmental efficiencyand ensure optimal client retention

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and coach Supervisors and Benefit Specialists to strong performance based results including but not limited to NPS, Retention and added Benefit Opportunities.
  • Provideleadership,coaching, and guidance to nurture and bridge culture acrossteams and drive client retention
  • Support the growth and professional development of team members
  • Correspond and be point of contact for problem resolution for clients,insurersand partnerson escalatedmatters.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to accelerate resolution of escalated matters and support strong renewal execution
  • Provide recommendations and make supported decisions on escalated mattersusing a risk-basedapproach
  • Ensure adherence to processes, administrative guidelinesandSLA’s
  • Develop key metric reporting (KPIs) that pertains to the department deliverables andperformance
  • Prioritizeand oversee delivery ofprocess improvement ideas,projectsand ongoing trainingfor the team, in collaboration with your leader
  • Maintain/Upgrade workforce planning tooland make informed recommendations on current and future staffingneeds
  • Conduct annual reviews (and 90-day reviews for new hires)
  • Performother duties as assigned bymanagement

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of related group benefits experience. Both experience rated and pooled Underwriting an asset
  • 2+ Years leading People leaders and Individual Contributors while developing KPI’s and driving Performance for sustained Results.
  • Proficiency in office programs required
  • GBA/CEBS Designation (or working towards) an asset
  • LLQP Designation is a requirement within 12 months of acceptance of the role.
