The Role

Here at STRIVE, we work with many clients including a special client who exports food products to 38 countries worldwide! Even with their international reach, our client is a Canadian-based company with over 100 years of experience in the exporting industry. On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator (export) to join their growing team in Richmond. This is a full-time, permanent position. You will be working from 7 to 3 PM or 8 to 4 PM, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator, specializing in export shipments to support the day-to-day operations of our rapidly expanding fresh, frozen, and value-added seafood products.

Main responsibilities include preparing export documents for fresh and frozen seafood shipments to Asia, Europe, and the United States. Negotiating prices and service rates with freight forwarding companies, shipping lines, and trucking companies, determining optimum modes of transportation based on products to be shipped, communicating with the sales team and processing facilities, and ensuring all orders are correct and invoiced accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare export documentation, including bills of lading, catch certificate, health certificate, insurance certificate, packing list and invoice.
  • Shipped perishable items to Europe and Asia
  • Negotiate rates with Shipping Lines.
  • Create bookings with Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders
  • Organize and schedule the shipment of completed orders in accordance with the shipping schedule and customer requirements.
  • Address orders, shipping and pricing questions from the sales team and customers.
  • Ensure all commercial invoices and other customs documentation for shipments are accurately completed and submitted to the customs broker.
  • Maintain up-to-date files of all completed shipments.
  • Accurately code brokerage and freight bills for Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare monthly export summary reports.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of export logistics experience (preparing export documents, organizing shipments, and arranging freight). ‘
  • International shipping documentation experience
  • Worked with perishable food items
  • ERP experience is an asset
  • Must be service-oriented, collaborative, and flexible (need to coordinate with processing facilities and sales team at different locations).
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a time-sensitive and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Compensation

  • $50 to $60k per year with bonus based on company’s performance
