Job Description

POSITION: Mailer Line Operator (Category 4)

FILL DATE: ASAP

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

LOCATION: Brampton Manufacturing Facility
95 Glidden Road, Brampton, ON, L6T-2H8, Canada

HOURS: Full-time hours, however weekly hours can vary.
48 hours one week and 36 hours the following week and repeat.This role works alternating weekends (required)

SHIFT: 12 Hour NON-Rotating Shift: 7:00PM to 7:00AM.
This role works alternating weekends (required).The ideal candidate should be willing to provide coverage for vacations, sick days, other LOAs, etc.

JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

PAY & BENEFITS: Competitive hourly rate (overtime eligible) with a six-month step progression plan (start, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months with respective reviews and increases if training and performance is satisfactory), Shift premium, Health and dental benefits, Retirement savings plan (defined contribution pension plan, Pay for performance incentives.

JOB OVERVIEW:
Daily operation of the Jiffylite Mailer Line (a bubble padded envelope manufacturing machine)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Follow manufacturing work instructions and training.
Ability to read the production schedule and notes.
Able to decipher 40 character material description code.
Timely and good communication skills with other production personnel and plant management.
Able to work in a fast paced environment.
Strong leadership in a team environment.

SAFETY:
Follow all plant safety rules and procedures.
Follow all mandatory actions outlines in Job Hazard Analyses.
Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO)
Maintaining proper housekeeping in accordance with our 5”S” Program.

MACHINE SET UP AND OPERATION:
Selecting the correct materials for the scheduled production.
Able to set up the print press for printed Mailers.
Able to set up machine controls for production.
Produce the correct quality products at the standard rate or better.
Input production data into SAP using the ACSIS program.

QUALITY CONTROL:
Perform quality testing during the first product inspection and hourly.
Measure and record production parameters.

MAINTENANCE:
Perform and record machine daily preventive maintenance.
Perform and record machine weekly preventive maintenance.

PRODUCTION AND QUALITY RECORDINGS:
Accurately record all production reports.
Accurately record all quality reports.
Turning all reports to the correct location and personnel.

Qualifications

QUALFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong English communication skills
  • (listening, understanding, speaking, writing, and reading).
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, MS Excel, Internet).
  • A good work ethic, solid attendance record and a positive attitude.
  • The successful candidate must be a team player and be able to work collaboratively with fellow employees. He/she must also be able to take direction.
  • 1-3 years of prior work experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred and/or experience working in a fast-paced environment.
