The Assistant Manager, Information Technology is responsible for the direct management and mentoring of the team leads and their system administration teams working across the PCL organization to ensure they maintain a high level of proficiency and efficiency in delivering technology solutions and technical services to our operations across North America.
As the Assistant Manager, Information Technology for our North American Headquarters district office in Edmonton, AB, you will contribute to our team by:
- Overseeing the planning, management, and coordination of direct and indirect reports across the PCL family of companies.
- Collaborating with the Business Technology team and product owners to design and develop innovative technology solutions for PCL district offices and construction projects.
- Designing and deploying new and efficient processes that improve the technology solutions and services provided to the organization.
- Conducting regular performance reviews and oversee the creation and management of individual career development plans and goals.
- Overseeing the implementation and adoption of PCL’s cutting-edge technology solutions that address current and emerging operational needs.
- Providing updates to district management and operations on the on-going Business Technology projects and technology solutions.
- Overseeing completion and adherence to IT Audits for all districts and projects across all of PCL.
- Providing escalation support to the team leads and system administrators on technical escalations
- Creating and delivering technology-focused presentations to district management and operational teams
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in an IT related field.
- 8+ years IT experience and 3+ years of experience as a team lead or similar role
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of customer service delivery
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to support key processes and goals.
- Ability to travel as required to District offices and constructions sites across North America
- Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting and solution delivery skills
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion
- Experience with current Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
- Experience with Networking such as VPN, WiFi, Switching, Routing and Firewalls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Proficiency with high volume support ticketing system(s) such as ServiceNow
