Manufacturing 4.0 is the next industrial revolution where big data and automation help drive efficiencies and enable best in class decision making. Sanofi Pasteur has identified as a key priority for the business the roll out of digital manufacturing 4.0 initiatives across all sites. As a result, a new digital team will be built to drive this transformative effort and cultural change for our vaccine site in Toronto.
The Deputy Director of Digital Design will serve in the role of a booster leader and is a primary point of contact for overseeing all manufacturing 4.0 projects, managing resources, team communication and meeting deadlines. This individual will work closely with the process owner, digital team and vendors on a daily basis as they manage people, delegate tasks and shepherd projects from start to finish.
Key Accountabilities:
Define digital project scope and plan the activities required for successful execution.
Remove barriers to progress and ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
Estimate workloads and budgets, draw up work schedules while taking into account resources.
Lead cross-functional project teams involving internal and external team members.
Prepare progress schedules and project reports for management, internal teams and others.
Serve as a conduit of information to all parties.
Communicate and elevate potential project issues and risks in a timely manner.
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
Lead, Supervise, motivate, and coach team members on multiple projects.
Participate as a member of the executive digital team to define and strategize site manufacturing 4.0 roadmap.
Key Qualifications:
Personal Qualities:
Negotiation skills for dealing with stakeholders and getting resources to agree with deadlines
Interpersonal skills, especially building relationships with stakeholders
Time management skills, strong communication capabilities and ability to deal with scope change
Business know-how, especially an understanding of how each project affects the business’ goals
Basic account management skills, including proposal and quote creation
Analytical skills to evaluate projects and their risks
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to multitask effectively
Leadership skills and the ability to work with multiple people simultaneously
Education/Certifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in science/engineering or a related field
Experience:
5-8 years of similar leadership experience in the digital space (digital strategy, design and development, information architecture)
Key Technical Competencies/Soft Skills:
This position must interact successfully with a fast paced project team and have a good understanding of project management.
Prior working experience with Lean & Six sigma methodologies and tools a strong asset
Experience working with Manufacturing 4.0 tools and technology, strong data analytics and information architecture experience
Prior project management working experience a strong asset
Ability to balance priorities and resources.
Knowledge and understanding of quality practices and GMPs
Strong problem solving and decision making skills / tools to resolve issues in a manner that is customer focused; but without compromise to making good quality decisions.
Strong written and oral communications skills
Creative and active problem solver who is approachable, collaborative, outgoing and diplomatic
Highly organized and flexible, strong follow through IT literate and skillful Apple user: iPhone, MacBook, iPad and Google Apps
Enjoys working as part of and managing the creative team to complete projects Fluent English, French would be appreciated.
