Marketing Specialist

As our Marketing Specialist, Advisor Sales Support, you will be responsible for the creation of engaging and innovative marketing content in both French and English to support advisors and reach Clients and communities across various digital and print platforms.

As a designer of creative collateral and compelling brand images and you are well-versed in trending styles—creativity is in your DNA. You have a talent for producing eye-catching visuals. Using your strengths in relevant and high-impact digital brand image design, you are obsessively compelled to drive engagement. You will work daily with advisors in Quebec and across Canada to understand their value proposition, target audience and business objectives and will help them thrive with their marketing objectives.

The candidate in this role is someone who is fluent in both French and English, thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, likes to work in consultation with advisors and other stakeholders, is resilient, open to collaboration and is well versed in digital content marketing best practices.

The Marketing Specialist reports to the Manager, Advisor Content, Advisor Sales Support in Sun Life Financial Distribution (SLFD). The SLFD Advisor Sales Support team delivers customized, bespoke marketing and sales initiatives at the region, team and individual advisor levels. The team is accountable to define and deliver marketing programs that effectively position Sun Life advisors’ distinctive value proposition for target clients and drive leads, sales and Client engagement.

What will you do?

Work in consultation with advisors and team members in both French and English to develop marketing tactics, ranging from digital and print advertising, to social media and website content and brochures.

Identify new marketing program opportunities, develop and source visual content.

Update the advisor content library.

Consult and liaise with advisors and field staff in French and English to solution their Marketing tactic needs.

Manage the production and approval process, and proofreading and translation procedures.

Help to optimize marketing efforts with segmentation, and personalized digital tactics that nurture and engage target audiences.

Proactively collect and track marketing tool metrics and comments from Clients and advisors.

What do you need to succeed?

Ability to communicate in both French and English language (oral and written)

Post-secondary diploma in a related field

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing roles, such as marketing consulting and graphic design

Thorough understanding of social media platforms, including advertising, and how they support other digital marketing efforts

Proven graphic design experience

Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud, with emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator in a Mac environment

Communication and Client service

Strong grammar, spelling and proofreading ability in French.

Ability to clearly present and position ideas and concepts

Intermediate analysis and problem-solving skills

Contribute to sharing different points of views and diversity to our team and projects

Ability to contribute to a busy team environment with positive attitude and impact

Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
