Powell River General Hospital, LM Labs, $22.58 per hour

What you will do:

• Perform data entry functions and general word processing such as inputting client information into relevant computerized systems, maintaining relevant registers, and typing from rough draft or general instruction, including correspondence, reports, and documents.
• Receive and process test requisitions, matching them with patient samples when required. Enter, search and retrieve information from computerized information systems as required. Enter test orders into computerized information systems in accordance with established procedures
• Perform clerical duties such as answering telephone calls and filing.
• Perform general record management duties such as assembling files, assigning file numbers, preparing file folders, and filing and distributing documents and files.
• Receive, record, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, internal correspondence, and courier documents.
• Maintain inventory of department supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you have:

• Completed Grade 12.
• Two (2) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

You will have the ability to:

• Keyboard at 45 wpm.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Physically carry out the duties of the position.
• Deal with others effectively.
• Operate related equipment.
• Organize work..
