Specific Job Description

The successful candidate will be the primary system administrator for maintaining and upgrading the SEACOT Canadian Navy trainer at CFB Esquimalt. They will work as part of an overall team of software and system engineers to ensure high availability of the trainer for the Canadian Navy and to implement upgrades as required. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience with a solid understanding of Linux system administration including knowledge of troubleshooting Linux networks and systems.
The candidate will be supporting a complex trainer with very little onsite help available and will be expected to solve problems quickly to prevent impact to the Navy training schedule.
The candidate will have to diagnose issues that arise in the trainer, including issues that may not have been seen before, and come up with the quickest way to get the system operational for training.
