MealSuite helps healthcare facilities (hospitals, long term care and more) run their foodservice operations. Our software is responsible for helping calculate the cost of meals, nutritional values, customize menus to patients preferences, avoid allergy conflicts, meet regulatory requirements and so much more.

We handle more than 600 million meals annually, with that expected to double by next year.

Our databases include hundreds of GBs of data for our customers that need to available 100% of the time because patient safety and operations never sleep.

We utilize a mix of Postgres and Redis, hosted on our own virtualized infrastructure located in several datacenters.

We’re looking to add a dedicated DBA to our team to be responsible for the stability and speed of our database infrastructure. You will be responsible for suggesting and implementing best practices as well as maintaining the database, including pre-emptive fine tuning and high attention to detail. If you are a passionate PostgreSQL DBA, with experience in a Linux environment, this role may be for you!

Responsibilities will include..

• Working with our software development teams to optimize query time, indexes and plan for capacity and growth
• Build, optimize and monitor database clusters utilizing tools such as Citus to ensure scalability of all required resources
• Monitor and maintain all disaster recovery plans, backups and secondary failover systems to ensure 100% uptime
• Monitor and tune the performance of the virtualized hardware to ensure it is performing at peak performance
• Training the software development team on how to write more effective SQL or no-SQL queries
• Work with the software development teams to implement database level functionality to reduce the load on the software stack

In this role you will be expected to assist in the event of degraded performance or an outage outside of regular business hours.
