Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in either our Calgary, Red Deer or Edmonton Office.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Technologist will conduct workplace site reviews and monitoring, worker exposure assessments and safety audits. You will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

• Conduct site investigations – asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, lead etc.
• Collect and interpret various building material samples, air samples, and perform Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) analysis
• Conduct field work and supervise remediation activities
• Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors
• Interpret and analyze sample results in relation to legislative requirements and industry-accepted guidelines
• Prepare technical reports
• Manage project schedules effectively and efficiently
• Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure health, safety and hygiene needs are addressed and met
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

• College diploma in Environmental, Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with active building demolition and/or occupational health and safety on construction sites is preferred
• Ability to use digital tablets and new applications which are constantly evolving
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to carry/climb ladders/tools (at least 50lbs) during surveys and ability to wear respirators for extended periods of time
• Strong organization skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to read technical specifications, drawings and reports
• Valid driver’s license, insurance and a personal vehicle required
• Availability to travel to clients’ sites (short-term work-related travel)
• Availability to work outside of core business hours
• Availability to work occasional weekends
