Administration, Group Savings & Retirement / Permanent position / Toronto / Quebec City / Montreal / Desired start date: As soon as possible

Reporting to the Senior Director, the employee is a representative of the organization’s culture, conveying the company’s values and ensuring that they are respected within his/her team. He/she plays a leading role in mentoring, business vision and organizational strategy. He/she establishes a work structure to achieve objectives and develops quality communications and relationships with internal and external partners.

His/her team consists of 4 assistant directors and over 65 employees. He/she is responsible for the administration of the group pension plans, including the deposit and settlement processes. He/she must ensure that everything is done with a view to continuous improvement by using the Lean tools at his/her disposal.

He/she oversees periodic activities such as participant statements, financial reports, tax receipts, annual returns and billing. He/she must respect the service and quality standards of the operations under his/her responsibility. He/she is also responsible for the training of his/her team members.

The employee also participates in the management of the business sector with the other members of the management team and supports all initiatives of the sector.

Responsibilities

The employee:

  • Is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring administrative services that support the overall strategy of the division;
  • Ensures that quality, timeliness and continuous improvement objectives are met;
  • Improves processes and efficiencies by applying industry best practices that are aligned with our four pillars of business strategy: growth, customer experience, efficiency and employee experience;
  • Ensures that all administrative departments under his/her supervision work collaboratively and in harmony with all functional units that interact with them;
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with internal stakeholders to promote and ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Must promote and commit to iA Financial Group’s Lean philosophy and process and will utilize the Continuous Improvement team to support A3, Kaizen, DMS and other Lean initiatives;
  • Manages the relationship with external vendors that support our operations;
  • Must ensure that Savings and retirement products comply with applicable rules, regulations and legislation and communicates with regulatory agencies;
  • Is responsible for mentoring and developing its resources in succession planning;
  • Provides leadership to the 4 managers under its management
  • Supervises a team of 4 managers and 65 employees.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the Group Savings and retirement sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science or any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • 10 years of experience, including 5 years in Human Resources Management
  • Excellent English- and French-language skills, both oral and written, due to regular interaction with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada
  • Acts as a mentor to his/her management team
  • Knowledge of the laws governing Group Savings and retirement products
  • Has a strong sense of customer service
  • Has leadership skills consistent with the “Lean” philosophy
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Favours teamwork
