The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Logistics & Scheduling Coordinator to join our Logistics Team within Assessment Services.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for both domestic and international logistics needs for the Assessment Services Group
  • Facilitate, coordinate and lead the project and non-project scheduling & shipping needs including processing tool requests, quote requests, shipping requests (Microsoft AX and non-AX) and other logistic activities as required.
  • Process fixed asset requests for reservation, manage scheduling, anticipate challenges, resolve issues and escalate conflicts for quick resolution to ensure On-Time delivery of all shipments
  • Required to perform shipment readiness or “Tertiary” checks per shipment. (Make sure shipping paperwork is accurate, matches physical shipment and shipment is packaged appropriately)
  • Foster communication between related roles and departments, and be the liaison between Operations, Material Handling and Logistics departments (ex: resource schedulers, those responsible for version control and Bills of Material, Tool Support, Purchasing, Operations, R&D, Finance, and Production Departments)
  • Work with our 3PL Partners and Freight Forwarders to quote, book and monitor shipments until delivery.
  • Closely Interact with Pure’s Freight Forwarders, 3PL partners, warehouse locations, & custom brokerage partners.
  • Lead the site’s inventory, material handling, and warehouse needs as required
  • Support as required the Inventory control auditing including cycle counts and annual inventory audits.
  • This role requires that the candidate is occasionally available to process shipments after hours and on the weekends (locating parcels, equipment not arriving as scheduled, late delivery shipment, emergency shipments (etc.)
  • Assist in preparing physical shipment as needed including palletizing freight, offloading / loading containers/trucks including appropriate strapping, wrapping, and securing.
  • Continually review freight costs to keep costs down where possible.
  • Identifying and shipping Dangerous Goods with appropriate labels and DG certificate where applicable and according to latest IATA regulations.
  • Trade compliance activities and adherence.
  • Fulfill shipping requests and tool scheduling needs
  • Prepare domestic and international shipping documentation
  • Clearly communicate shipment status, Ship dates, ETA, and location upon request (utilizing the scheduling tools Pure provides)
  • Maintain a safe and orderly working environment through workplace organization best practices
  • Drive cost saving opportunities on a per-shipment basis
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Diploma/Degree in Supply chain or busines related field, or equivalent working experience is required
  • APICS or equivalent certification (a plus)
  • Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • 2-3 years of Planning & Scheduling experience within a project related environment
  • Continuous Improvement experience (a plus)
  • Project management skills (a plus)
  • Knowledge of trade compliance practice (a plus)
  • Process orientated and disciplined to procedural adherence and utilization
  • Knowledge of International Logistical Principles and Practices
  • Experience working in a Material Handling environment
  • Demonstrate effective shipment planning and scheduling skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong problem solving skills
  • Highly proficient in (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and familiar with Scheduling tools
  • Strong and proactive internal and external customer service skills with great attitude and professionalism
  • Must be well organized, flexible, detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Excellent communication, follow-through and process improvement skills
  • Time management practices and time-directed prioritization (a must)
  • Dangerous goods certification
