Job title: Senior Accountant, Finance Operations

Job description: Help Us Shape the Future of Healthcare

At League, we’re big on building connections – both through our product and with each other. Our platform is consumer centric, personalized and always on. It’s a front door to healthcare that empowers people to live healthier, happier lives. Every day.

When you feel connected to our mission, values and the work you do, you’re driven to perform your best every day. When you feel connected to people you work with, you’re able to build meaningful relationships that last. Together, we share the ultimate goal of delivering better health outcomes for everyone.

The world has changed, and so has the way we work. We believe you can work where you work best (whether it’s in the office all the time, a few days a week, or none of the time), and still feel connected to our mission, values, purpose, and each other. League is headquartered in Toronto with a second office in Chicago and we believe in empowering Leaguers to work their way-anywhere that works for them in Canada and the US.

All Leaguers have League life moments – moments in our careers that connect us to League’s mission and values, to each other and to our amazing work – every day.

Will your first League life moment be meeting our team? We can’t wait to meet you.

The Senior Accountant is an important position on our growing Finance team. You will be responsible for managing critical operational finance processes. These processes are technically complex and very directly impact the company’s cash position and cash outlook. These processes are also not quite mature and evolving. A successful Senior Accountant will focus on ways to structure and stabilize internal processes, setting them up for scaled growth over the next 1-2 years.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the completion of ongoing reviews of AR aging ledgers, prioritizing and driving customer collections as appropriate.
  • Be responsible for the completion of ongoing reviews of customer health spending positions – an operationally complex area unique to our business.
  • Be responsible for bi-weekly cash reporting. The Senior Accountant will also be counted on to make recommendations for optimizing overall cash and support with quarterly cash outlooks.
  • Be responsible for monthly account reconciliations for AR, Accrued AR, Customer Spend and our monthly off balance sheet adjustment.
  • Be responsible for customer health reporting for our Customer Service team.
  • Own responsibility for our Life Marketplace monthly accounting.
  • Support with responsibility over certain technically complex accounting processes: (1) Employee stock option expense (2) League rewards points accounting
  • Support completion of our annual external financial statement audits.
  • Supporting the VP Finance Ops with technical guidance and research, as needed.
  • Completion of other special projects, as required.

About you:

  • CPA, CA (CAD) or CPA US) designation
  • At least 2+ years work experience outside a firm, with a preference for experience in a SaaS software company.
  • Experience in Netsuite considered a strong asset
  • A track record that demonstrates the ability to evolve quickly and execute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize.

At League, everyone is welcome. Diversity makes us better, and we believe in building diversity across cultural identity, gender, sexual orientation, age and education, thought and experience.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.
