About the Position

The Finance Manager will report into the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with our CEO and will manage our budgeting, forecasting and overall business reporting, including payables, receivables and payroll administration.

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the financial function in a growing company. You will support all internal departments and build strong relationships with leaders to assist them in managing their costs and people resources. You will bring experience to do the budgeting, forecasting and overall business reporting.

Some tasks you might be working on include preparing annual budgets and creating cash flows and financial models. Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements for presentation for senior management, board and shareholders. Preparation of tax returns, SRED claims and other key company business relationships, such as banking, insurance etc. Assisting with financing needs, including coordination of legal and due diligence activities, and meeting with potential partners and funders. Sourcing and implementation of financial systems to meet the scaling needs of the business.

Skills and Experience

In the last 5 to 7 years, you have demonstrated:

• Strong financial knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
• Proficient with excel and accounting/CRM and other business focused software systems
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data, and influence decisions to drive the business
• Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in an evolving business environment
• Been involved in the selection and implementation of financial processes and systems

Bonus Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in sourcing and implementing accounting systems
