The Quality and Patient Safety Education (QPSE) team is comprised of staff with diverse areas of expertise and the incumbent will need to work effectively as a member, working collaboratively to use diverse skill sets within the broader QPSE team. In doing so, the incumbent will serve as an expert consultant on theory and evidence related to curriculum design and development of educational offerings and take a leadership role in ensuring that curriculum and associated educational offerings are designed and implemented across the organization. He/she will purposefully build partnerships and coalitions with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve the quality of and access to educational offerings. The incumbent will support increased knowledge, shifts in understandings and points of view regarding content in the four areas of focus; and enable AHS staff, medical staff, patient advisors and leaders to apply quality improvement, patient safety, patient and family centered care and innovation knowledge. In addition, the incumbent will deliver face to face and virtual education for a limited number of courses; translate and edit content derived from subject matter experts into experiential educational offerings; contribute to evaluation of curriculum and educational offerings; interpret organizational needs for educational offerings in the four key areas of focus, assess requirements and recommend solutions to complex, non-standard approaches and requests; support increased knowledge, shifts in understandings and points of view regarding content in the four areas of focus; provide guidance to entry level consultants to foster increased knowledge and skill in the areas of educational design, facilitation, consultation, and evaluation and provide guidance to external faculty to strengthen course and/or webinar delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Post Graduate Instructional Design education or commensurate experience required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in educational instructional design and delivery including face to face and/or virtual education. A sound knowledge of patient safety, quality improvement methodology, patient and family centered care and/or innovation. Five years’ experience in a health care environment. Demonstrated success in project planning and/or quality improvement. Significant experience in building partnerships and coalitions with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and influence partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate curriculum and educational offerings. Demonstrated history of scanning the environment for best practices and emerging trends, and applying these in practice. Additional Required Qualifications:

Formal Instructional Design certification or degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred.
