Job description: The Lake Joseph Golf Club is Hiring! You are an essential component to our pursuit of customer service excellence. Your main responsibilities will be to assist the Sous Chef with the preparation and production of high-quality food. You will also be involved in continuous hands-on training of all kitchen team members, receiving, food storage and inventory control procedures. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare food items designated to the assigned station, in accordance with standards of quality, quantity control and presentation established by the Executive Chef Cleans, peels, cores, shreds, chops and slices fruits and vegetables Arrange trays of fruit, meat and/or cheeses Coordinate line operations in dining room and/or clubhouse for a la carte dining or banquet dining Prepare mise en place for the shift Assist with the preparation of daily soups and specials for dining areas QUALIFICATIONS Excellent Interpersonal Skills Minimum of 1 year of culinary experience, preferably in a resort or hotel setting Previous experience with banquet style/large batch culinary operations and a la carte is an asset Post-Secondary courses related to hospitality or culinary arts an asset Ability to work well under pressure and independently A self-starter and team player Knife handling skills are required Able to work in high demand situations Ability to lift 40 lbs Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays Food Handler Certificate This is a seasonal position with a start date based around the Club’s opening date.
