Join a team of 12 colleagues in similar roles with our Toronto office, reporting into the Senior Manager, Loan Administration & Compliance Credit Capital Markets (CCM).

National Bank is looking to hire an Account Representative, Loan Administration of syndicated loans for mid-market Commercial Clients to support Directors and Managing Directors within the Credit Capital Markets (CCM) sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work in partnership with various internal and external stakeholders (line of business, clients, law firm, trustees) in syndicated and direct financing transactions.
  • Orient stakeholders by evaluating and identifying their needs and proposing appropriate solutions to support the implementation of activities considering the diversity of cases and bank’s operational limitations.
  • Interact with different sectors of the Bank, managers, and employees to interpret information and offer support and advice within a defined framework/procedure.
  • Respond to requests from clients, internal and external stakeholder or direct them appropriately to get a response.
  • Conduct various studies, researches and analyzes to provide the necessary information to all stakeholders where information needs to be obtained from multiple sources. Chooses the best option(s) for the smooth running of loan administration activities
  • Support the implementation at different stages of the loan cycle and ensure follow-up until full completion of the request.
  • Proactively report problematic situations to a supervisor.
  • Work with some supervision but may often need assistance from a supervisor for more complex situations.

This position is divided in 5 main responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • You will be expected to provide high quality and professional service (in person, electronically, and over the telephone) in order to maintain the satisfaction of internal and external parties.

Loan Administration

  • You will be expected to be very detail oriented and meticulous in all aspects of loan administration.

AML

  • You will be expected to understand the requirements for companies structured as corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, etc… and abiding by the requirements required to be AML compliant.

Financial Covenants and Compliance

  • You will be required to understand complex financial covenant and reporting requirements, with a view to monitor and follow as per executed legal documentation.

Security Documentation

  • You will be required to control and monitor all security documentation and executed legal documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and Minimum 2 years’ experience in loan administration with the Commercial Sector of a Financial Institution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast changing and high-pressure environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Be able to work well in a team environment
  • Familiar with Loan IQ (loan database system); an asset
  • Bilingualism both spoken and written (English and French); an asset
