Job description: What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Actuarial & Risk Management within GRMI (Group Risk Management – Insurance), the incumbent will be part of a dynamic team managing the modelling of the Company’s asset portfolio and CALM valuation. This roles supports the team on various ALM strategy modelling and analysis.

What will you do?

• Assist in economic assumption study and implementation in AXIS

• Assist in investment strategy analysis and implementation in CALM model

• Assist in the production of the quarterly CALM valuation process including asset data checking and reconciliation

• Quantify ALM trades and their impact on earnings and interest rate risk profile

• Consolidate and analyze liability cash flow on a monthly basis to determine asset demand with investment

• Assist with identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes

What will you need to succeed?

Must have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics

• Actively pursuing an ASA/ACIA designation with minimum 3-4 exams

• Experience with AXIS/Datalink, MS Access and Excel

• Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively influence others as well as present issues, options and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have

• Asset/Reinvestment AXIS module experience is definitely an asset
