Job description: The Administration and Field Support Specialist position will be based in our BC operations and will support and collaborate with production managers, ranch managers, crew leaders and all field employees to ensure that the Company operates its business through its core values of Honesty, Fairness and Respect. The position will support the operation with a Workers Come First philosophy. Strategies will support the operation’s growth plan by advancing employee engagement, promoting a positive work environment, employee relations and ensuring labor law compliance. Additionally, this position will play a key role in the management of our guest worker program during planning and implementation. This position will provide support to field team and production manager to ensure agricultural operations runs effectively and compliantly and allows them to focus on the crop.

1. Field Support

· Continuously assesses labor needs, prepares labor plan and implements it in collaboration with PM and CL.

· Ensures crews are prepared for workday by ensuring all packaging materials, supplies, protocols are completed prior to start of workday.

· Assists crew leader to inspect crew members’ tasks are completed according to quality standards

· Guides CL in the effective management of employees while ensuring fairness and consistency.

2. Human Resources Support

· Leads HR function withing BC operations to ensure alignment with company business strategies

· Maintains a constant presence at field and fosters an environment of trust and approachability

· Manages onboarding process to ensure effective introduction to business and company culture.

· Monitors employee engagement and develops creative and collaborative strategies to increase employee engagement aligned with desired business results

· Investigates, manages and resolves complex employee relations cases according to company’s values and within company policies and applicable laws

· Coordinates training programs, such as safety, leadership development, and technical competencies

· Maintains personnel files and manages all employee related documentation including payroll and production records.

3. Guest Worker Program

· Support Labor Strategies Manager in the overall management of the Guest Work Program.

· Conduct housing inspections as required by the program and ensure inspections are completed timely and compliantly.

· Provide administrative support including posting of jobs, contacting domestic applicants, scheduling interviews, updating recruitment logs, maintaining employee files.

· Attend to employees’ needs including assisting them to adjust to Canadian environment including banking, medical appointments, grocery shopping, etc.

· Ensure compliance with laws and regulations of each country related to employment, safety and immigration / work visa requirements

· Conduct exit surveys upon completion of season and present results along with recommendations to address areas of concern.

· Support the management of the logistics of safely moving workers from and back to their home countries.

· Stay current with regulatory changes and incorporate into program management

4. Other duties as assigned.
