We are looking for Administrative Assistant(s) to provide a range of support services including document preparation, data entry, customer service, and other related duties. The Administrative Assistant Pool are temporary positions; working a casual/as-needed schedule based on operational requirements at the Iron Ore Company of Canada site in Labrador City, NL.

Reporting to the leader, which varies based on the assignment, you will:

  • Work safely in accordance with Rio Tinto safety standards – actively engaging in safety initiatives and promoting our “Zero harm” safety culture;
  • Perform data entry to ensure accurate information is promptly captured in appropriate information systems.
  • Accurately maintain manpower, overtime and records.
  • Establish and maintain office filing systems, files and records; assemble information upon request; direct other employees in file maintenance procedures.

What you’ll bring

  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively with others to achieve results.

Where you’ll be working

The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is a leading Canadian producer of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellets that serves customers worldwide. The company operates a mine, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as port facilities in Sept-Îles, Quebec. It also operates a 418 kilometer railroad that links the mine to the port.
