What you’ll do

  • Maintain related database information such as patient statistics, research, and related projects by inputting, retrieving, sorting, and performing backup of database information.
  • Access and extract monthly reports of statistical data and other requested data from the computer system as required.
  • Book, schedule, and confirm outpatient appointments. Add, delete, and change appointments as required. Pre-register patients and request patient charts from Health Records.
  • Control data completion and integrity by searching out missing items.
  • Receive and direct patients; answer, screen and redirect phone calls; take messages for doctors and nurses, including calls from pharmacies for refill prescriptions and verification.

What you bring

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Two (2) years’ recent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

You are able to:

  • Type at 45 w.p.m.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Deal with others effectively.
  • Organize work.
  • Operate related equipment.
  • Physically carry out the duties of the position.
