Description

The successful candidate can successfully analyze product data, develop a competitive robust process, considering all tolerance requirements for the latest Automotive Industry materials. Have a full understanding of the latest high strength materials, product manufacturing, heat treatment and joining technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and preparation of system and manufacturing concepts.
  • Product manufacturability analysis and recommendations.
  • System layout development and optimization.
  • Support of GD&T / Tolerance stack-up analysis, development of Clamping Plans and P-FMEA documentation.
  • Support of process change management and quote development.
  • Support of continuous improvement efforts in:
  • Corporate Best Practices
  • Bench marking activities.
  • Lessons learned.
  • Support global launch activities as required.
  • Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Cosma Way of Thinking in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
  • Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills Summary

  • Chassis and Body-In-White Welding and Assembly fixture design experience.
  • Min. (5) years’ work experience in related industry. (Automotive preferred)
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent English skills (fluent in spoken and written, presentation skills)
  • Proficiency in ACAD or similar and understanding of 3D CAD design.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel globally and have valid travel documents.
  • Excellent leadership skills, self-motivated, team player.
  • Working knowledge of Aluminium joining technologies an asset.
  • Aluminium BIW (Body-in-white) assembly an asset.
  • Experience with Spin Fire, Vis View, MS Project an asset
  • Experience with 3D Process Software an asset.
  • German and Spanish or Mandarin Chinese Written & Spoken Language an asset

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education e.g. technical school, college, university, special studies or equivalent. (Ie Trade with shopfloor experience in Automotive manufacturing.)
