Job description: Tesla is looking for a motivated and experienced Supervisor for our highly dynamic parts distribution center in Lathrop, CA. This position will provide supervision of day-to-day operations including receiving, stocking, shipping and all transactions related to said activities. The Supervisor, Parts & Service Warehouse, will also ensure efficiency and accuracy of stocking and organizing parts inventory. This individual will work closely with the Parts & Service Buyers, Logistics and Quality teams, as well as with internal and external customers around the globe. This role will report directly to the Associate Manager, Parts & Service Warehouse. We currently have openings for both day shift and swing shift, but flexibility is required.
- Engage in all phases of customer assistance within a dealership parts department, including retail, service and wholesale
- Candidate should be familiar with automotive DMS systems, from a parts perspective, and should understand how invoicing, ordering and receiving screens in the DMS system interact with each other
- Responsible for assistance in setting up and maintaining the warehouse layout and overall flow
- Training and assist other Tesla team members (i.e., engineering, production, sales) in locating parts within the parts catalog, and procuring parts if necessary
- Manage space optimization within the distribution center
- Ensure that warehouse staff effectively and efficiently performs timely receiving, stocking, picking, packing and shipping of inventory to store locations and external customers
- Address issues with regard to correcting any inbound packaging issues from our internal and external suppliers
- Communicate with internal teams and internal/external customers to keeping all informed of the inventory and shipping status including No Bin, No Cost, No Movement reporting
- Must be able to pass Fork Lift Certification (valid driver’s license required)
- Regularly monitoring the inventory work, the implementation of assigned processes, such as coordinate a cycle count program, and troubleshoot all order problems, and suggesting changes accordingly
- Resolve process issues related to materials management, warehousing, production control, logistics, distribution, and returns of finished goods and sub-assemblies
- Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment, preferably automotive-related
- Robust experience in creating metrics for performance management
- Able to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various teams including service and supply chain personnel in a lean principles environment
- Track record of developing, implementing and driving Distribution Center business processes and policies
- Working familiarity with IATA (International Air Transport Association) relevant requirements (DG certification is a plus)
- In-depth experience in change management process (ECO)
- Knowledge and application of TPS, Min/Max principles, and Logistics methodology in a JIT environment
- Proven ability to provide leadership and motivation to a large group of warehouse personnel
- Familiarity with outbound shipping requirements of components via common freight carriers domestically and internationally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills and experience using SAP a huge plus
- Excellent organizational skills to manage and track transaction details
