Rosewood Hotel Georgia is looking for an Assistant Director of Finance.

As a Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for responsible for directly managing the finance department’s daily activities. Responsible for the preparation of an accurate financial statement each month. In addition, prepares Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly.

Key Responsibilities:

Great attention to detail of daily working of the Finance team under the direction of the Director of Finance.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
Assist the Director of Finance in preparation of all budgets and forecasts; help to maintain compliance to budget guidelines.
Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
Manage the month-end closing process.
Prepare journal entries in accordance with required procedures.
Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliation’s on a monthly basis; provide backup for each account.
Clear reconciling items within 60 days.
Hire, coach, counsel and motivate Accounting Staff.
Ensure general ledger accounts adhere to Uniform Chart of Accounts and company policy.
Count General Cashier Safe no less than once a month; report results to Controller.
Ensure quarterly tip education is performed.
Maintain and update contract file.
Ensure all taxes are filed and prepared accurately each month. (I.e., sales, occupancy, etc.)
Prepare and participate with annual public accounting firm audit of books and records, owner audits and corporate office audits.
Prepare annual performance reviews of staff.
Cover responsibilities of Controller in their absence.
Participate in required meetings.
Directly handle all/any taxing authority audits, defending any inaccuracies presented in an audit.
Perform any special projects required by Controller.
Perform a self-audit on one Accounting position each month.
Request Change Orders from bank for General Cashier.
Fund Reserve for Replacement Bank Account for 4% and reimburse operating for Capital Expenditures.
Maintain end of month work papers in organized and easily accessible files.
Enforce regular vacations of Accounting personnel.
Maintain a tax calendar noting due dates each year in a visible area of the office.
Balance each month intercompany accounts.
Maintain/update the checklist book.
Other duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Minimum two to five years hotel experience with two years management experience in a similar role. Luxury or ultra-luxury experience is preferred.
Bachelors degree in Accounting, hotel management, business or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work-related experience.
Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
Has the ability to drive change, think out of the box and challenge the status quo.
Has intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is preferred.
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other associates and departments
Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 15 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
