Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Global Logistics, the Assistant Manager, Logistics is responsible for coordinating the daily work of the logistics team and maintaining the efficiency of logistical processes and tools. He/She will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that logistical processes are followed and operational excellence is achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and coordinate operations of the logistics coordinators
Assess team and process performances, implementing improvements where required
Develop logistics training documents and policies and ensure the training of all new resources
Maintain and improve logistics ticket service level agreements, proactively addressing high volume events
Address and resolve all issues related to import/export, transportation, and assist in troubleshooting logistics systems
Monitor and control all logistics processes based on documented Standard Operating Procedures
Communicate effectively with suppliers and carriers to maintain supply chain efficiency
Review and audit import / export compliance
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the Logistics team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
A minimum of 3 years experience in a high volume, high value, fast moving items environment, preferably in e-commerce
A minimum of 5 years experience managing or leading a team
Thorough understanding of international shipments and customs documentation
Expérience with cost control, brokerage, transport costs, and inbound / outbound shipping
Advanced knowledge of Google Suite and / or Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working in the apparel business, an asset
Experience working with small-parcel shipments or international freight movement, an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
SKILLS
Excellent people management skills; ability to seamlessly integrate logistics strategy into daily operations
Data-driven management with ability to lead the operations through defined metrics and KPIs
Excellent problem solving, time management and organizational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
