Job Description – Associate, Banking & Finance (Junior) Lawyer

Due to ongoing growth, our client is seeking to add an Associate, Banking & Finance to its team in Calgary. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of banking and finance law experience, excellent academic credentials, and excellent technical, analytical, and drafting skills.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Assist and advise financial institutions, private lenders, and businesses in respect of a broad range of financial services transactions, including corporate lending, cross-border financings, syndicated bank transactions, and acquisition financings.
• Provide support to senior counsel and ensure deadlines are met. 
• Participate in and support business development activities, including client relationship management.

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

• LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).
• Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
• 1+ years of banking and finance law experience.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong technical, analytical, and drafting skills.
