Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
The Associate shall assist Account Managers in evaluating and structuring commercial real-estate financing (lines of credit, mortgage construction loans). As an Associate you will be required to complete the due diligence check of borrower, bond and property information provided by clients and account managers. These tasks require an in-depth knowledge of customers and the company, the real estate sector, regulatory issues, economic or political trends and customer needs. In collaboration with Account Managers, the incumbent must prepare credit applications that must be submitted to and authorized by the CIBC Risk Management Unit.
How You’ll Succeed
Financial Statements – You will conduct complex financial analyses and risk and credit analyses for new commercial real-estate financing.
Risk Management – You will gather, review and critically assess third-party due diligence reports on a property, such as property assessments, environmental assessments, property fitness assessments and construction cost consultant reports.
Compliance – You will participate in the loan administration processes in place by conducting annual renewals and reviews of various credits. Comply with all applicable Bank and industry policies, guidelines and controls, including ensuring that all mandatory training is completed

- You have a degree/diploma in Business Administration, Finance or Property Management.
