Job description: About the role
In this role, you’ll be working closely with other AV Logistics Technician(s), the greater AV Operations Team, and Production Infrastructure Team on a regular basis.
As an AV Logistics Team Lead your role will cover all aspects of how we procure, inventory, distribute, and maintain rental and permanent AV hardware allocations at Shopify. Leading team members through example and assistance in the day-to-day tasks of Logistics will include anything from assessing the needs vs wants of any request to the creation and maintenance of a Rental Portal for Shopifolk to easily access gear rentals to administration and constant improvement of the Inventory system in Helpdesk
The ideal candidate is passionate about AV and Broadcast technology, leading a growing people in a technology-first environment, and most importantly finding ways to get folks the tools they need to GSD.
You’ll be working on things like:
Ideating, developing, and maintaining a fleet of rental kits based on the varied needs of teams at Shopify
Developing and maintaining a Rental Equipment portal to ensure our people can get easy and reliable access to the tools and equipment AV provides
Researching the latest AV equipment, software, and practices and leveraging them where it makes sense for Shopify
Working with other teams at Shopify to evaluate and procure the needed AV equipment for in-person events
Remotely supporting users of rental kits and gear
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll:
Experience managing and growing a team of Technology professionals through leadership and education
Experience with managing large inventories of varied pieces of AV and Broadcast equipment
Experience in providing AV technology solutions for in-person events, either directly or as a consulting agent
The ability to evaluate the needs of a requester and if needed push back against the want while maintaining a collegial relationship
Excellent time management and the ability to adapt and pivot according to shifting priorities
The ability to adapt and pivot according to shifting priorities
A passion for innovation and an appetite for taking smart risks
A desire to be a constant learner and develop creative technical solutions
It’d be great if you have experience with:
Procurement of AV or technology equipment in a corporate or hospitality setting
Negotiating with vendors to stretch the value of our spend
General Computer Networking knowledge
Coupa/Helpdesk or similar tools
Shopify’s e-commerce and SFN platforms
