Reports to: Manager, Group Administration

Department: Group
Hours: Western Shift (11:00am to 7:00pm)

The Opportunity:

Equitable Life is looking for a Group Administration Specialist to join our team. We’re looking for someone who has a history of providing outstanding customer service, administrative excellence and a proven keen eye for detail. What you’ll do:

  • Provide customer service via phones, emails and written correspondence
  • Update and validate plan member and plan sponsor information
  • Administer pay direct drug cards including problem solving utilizing provider’s software
  • Update banking information, in accordance with external vendors’ guidelines
  • Terminate and reinstate plan members, divisions and group contracts to ensure that only eligible claims are paid, including the collection of any resulting overpayments
  • Provide support to medical underwriting by assessing member eligibility
  • Request medical evidence of insurability
  • Interpret system reports and complete unfinished processes, or take corrective action when required
  • Facilitate the administration of a new group policy by loading plan member details

What you’ll need:

  • Bilingual in French and English required
  • Post-Secondary diploma or degree
  • 1 year experience in a medical-related field or business environment
  • Personal integrity and sense of ethics in making objective decisions regarding applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, judgement, creative problem solving, decision making and research skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply contract provisions and administrative guidelines
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, ability to learn and apply new system applications (BMS)
  • Ability to handle high work volume within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, accepting accountability and ownership of work; able to work in a team setting
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities and prioritization skills
  • Logical reasoning abilities in relation to business accounting and practices
  • ACS/LOMA/CEBS designation an asset
