Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Centre (CIC): Nova Scotia occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace – at the intersection of business and technology.

Candidates must:

  • Have graduated no earlier than 2019, and will be graduating no later than 2021
  • Have an Associate’s Degree, College Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree by date of employment
  • Exception: This program does not accept MBA or PhD candidates/graduates
  • Have no more than 2 years of full-time professional related work experience
  • Be eligible to work in Canada without current or future needs for visa sponsorship
  • Be willing and able to live and work in Nova Scotia, with minimal travel anticipated

Opportunities at IBM CIC Halifax:

  • Software Development:
  • This area focuses primarily in web, mobile and cloud software development. Successful candidates will have core knowledge in Cloud Concepts, Microservice architecture, and RESTful web service development. Candidates should also know one or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, C#, ASP .NET, C++, SQL; one or more of the following frameworks/libraries: Spring/SpringBoot, Angular, React; one or more of the following cloud services: IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, RedHat, GCP
  • Quality Assurance IBM iGNITE Software Testing:
  • IBM iGnite Quality and Test delivers through a simple framework – Optimization, Automation and AI Analytics. Candidates will have knowledge in one or more of the following skills: Java, JavaScript Python, SQL, NumPy, ISTQB, Jira, Selenium
  • Peoplesoft/Oracle – Functional and Technical:
  • PeopleSoft is an Oracle ERP system with a focus on HR, payroll and accounting modules. Candidates for this area must be eligible for Canadian reliability security clearance requirements. Technical candidates will focus mainly on backend coding. You must have knowledge in back-end coding using SQL or MySQL and have core development knowledge. Ideal functional candidates will have HR, payroll, or business/commerce knowledge.
  • SAP- Functional and Technical:
  • This area focuses on various modules within SAP. Technical candidates will be using either ABAP or BASIS, so knowledge in similar computer languages such as Java, C, C++, Python & databases such as SQL & MySQL will be beneficial. Ideal functional candidates will have knowledge in supply chain, procurement, finance, or human capital management (HCM). Candidates should also have an interest in cloud technology.
  • Project Management:
  • This area focuses on various aspects of project management within IT consulting, ranging from project administration to support specialists, and from ideation to sustainment. Ideal candidates will have an academic business background, or will have displayed business knowledge in former experiences.

  • A history of achievement in academics, internships, and/or work experiences
