What Are We Looking For?

Scout Logistics, a leading and rapidly growing Canadian 3PL (Third Party Logistic Provider) and proudly one of Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Companies for five straight years, is seeking experienced 3PL Sales Candidates for the position of Dry Freight Business Development Manager (BDM) based out of Toronto.

Scout is not your typical 3PL and as such, we’re not looking for your typical Dry Freight Business Development Manager. As a Dry Freight Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in continuously identifying new sales opportunities and reaching revenue goals to meet our strategic objectives. We are actively seeking motivated, self-driven and well-organized BDMs who have demonstrated experience in building solid, long-lasting relationships by focusing on listening to potential customers’ shipping challenges and offering them tailored, proactive solutions. The BDM will handle all phases of the sales process including, lead generation, qualification, structuring and negotiating the agreement and close.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to come into a company with zero previous obstacles. This is a brand new department in which you will build your own book of business, and eventually manage the Dry Freight Logistics team.

  • Knows 3PL, Dry Freight, and ability to start your own team.
  • Forensic level attention to detail and strong organization and time & people management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications.

The successful candidate will have at least three (3) years of solid 3PL sales experience in a fast-paced, non-asset, 3PL environment (preferably FTL, reefer or dry van experience). ***Those without direct 3PL sales experience will not be considered for this role.***
