As a member of the Access Networks PMO, Governance & Controls, Capital Management Analyst will be reporting to the Manager, Regional Business Controls and will be mainly responsible for detailed analysis and reporting of financial data related to Rogers Access capital budget. In addition, the successful incumbent will also assist the manager with detailed financial analysis and provide critical insights to regional leads.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Liaise with Regional leadership team on achieving monthly, quarterly and yearly spend targets at a program and project level
  • Monitor, review and consolidate project spend data and tracking to yearly fiscal budget
  • Collaborate with Network Finance team to ensure one source of truth
  • Lead the delivery of analytical insights using data to tell the business narrative to drive critical decisions
  • Automating and establishing controls for project spend integrity across Network Access Projects
  • Provide detailed analysis of project spend as it relates to project deployment progress
  • Analyze current and future spend trends and identify risks to project deployment
  • Provide mitigations plans for action by regional teams
  • Provide meaningful analysis and commentary to both budget and to forecast on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Work with the Oracle Financial Systems & Tools (Discoverer, SmartView, Noetix)
  • Be an expert in managing data and create insightful analysis to drive business improvement
  • Develop metrics to be actionable, and guide regional teams in rhythms of business
  • Design/develop automated reports using Excel’s Power Query feature and/or VBA
  • Support the Manager with Capital Spend reporting packages, ad hoc analysis
  • Preparation/presentation of detailed financial plans and results for senior management

What you have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • University Degree and have or working towards an accounting/finance designation (CPA/CA/CFA) would be an asset
  • Proficient in Excel, VBA and Power BI skills
  • Pre-existing knowledge of Oracle financial system would be an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong team skills, but ability to work independently
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Network and finance organization
