Job description: We are hiring a Construction Project Accountant for our client in Burnaby

Are you a successful Construction Project Accountant or a Construction Accounts Payable Accountant who wants to take the next step and grow in construction / development accounting? Our client is looking for a Construction Project Accountant to handle the full-cycle accounting for their construction and development projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Setup contracts in the accounting system and review contract commitments for the duration of the project;

• Maintain project-related purchase orders, administer subcontract documentation, including change orders;

• Manage monthly progress billings to trades;

• Bank reconciliations, journal entries and accruals;

• Job cost reporting and Construction budget variance analysis

• Loan draws and cash-flow reports

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years full-cycle accounts payable and project accounting experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; preferably in the construction industry;

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay flexible, while meeting deadlines and goals;

• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and feeling of ownership and pride in work product;

• Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
