Job title: Construction Accountant

Job description: Our construction client is seeking a Construction Accountant for a 6-month term. In this role you will report to the VP of Finance and manage Financial Planning & Analysis activities.

The Construction Accountant’s duties will include:
– Managing and monitoring construction activities
– Reporting variances against forecast on building costs
– Ensuring that policies, delegation of authority and internal controls are followed
– Training and mentoring team members
– Liaising with construction managers, banks, vendors and senior business leadership
– Ensuring costs are captured against appropriate projects
– Other duties as required

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
– CPA designation preferred
– Expertise with Yardi
– Construction accounting experience
– Proactive and detail-mindedness
– Comfort working with senior leadership
– Ability to travel within Ontario
