Job Details
Position Title: Construction Project Manager
Status: Full-time contract (2 years)
Hours per week: 37.5 hours
Faculty/Department: Capital Development & Facilities Management
Campus/Location: North Campus
Working Arrangement: On Campus only
Salary Range: TBD

What you will do:
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Campus & Space Planning, the Construction Project Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of assigned multi-million dollar, capital construction projects across the College. Responsibilities span a broad spectrum covering all areas of project management, including, but not limited to:

– Project planning
– Construction management
– Contract administration (including schedule and budget management)
– Coordination of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, interior design and finishes, plus furniture, fitments and equipment.

The incumbent will participate in all aspects of project execution from program development, detailed contract documentation, consultant procurement, regulatory requirements, tendering, construction, deficiency completion, client occupancy and warranty reviews.

The Construction Project Manager will be required to participate as an integral part of the Capital Development administrative team as assigned.

Qualifications

What you bring to the role:

The successful candidate must have an advanced diploma in Architectural Technology, or Architecture degree, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role. Additionally, the preferred candidate will have the Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Additional skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office including Excel spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated skills in space program development, space planning, architectural working drawings and contract document development
  • Demonstrated skills/training in the fields of occupational health and safety, life safety, construction, mechanical and electrical
  • Excellent working knowledge of regulatory codes related to fields noted above
  • Demonstrated experience with contract administration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction management and work control systems
  • Demonstrated skills in financial management of multi-million dollar, multi-phased, construction projects
  • Demonstrated skills/training in human resource management, team building, ability to persuade, client service and conflict resolution
  • Possession of Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence
