WesTower Communications Ltd, a major provider of telecommunications infrastructure and services across Canada, is seeking to fill the important new position of Senior Fleet Coordinator for our Corporate Fleet Management team. Reporting directly to the Fleet Director, the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and safe operation of a highly varied fleet of vehicles, equipment, and tools across the country. Fundamental activities will involve daily interaction with internal stakeholders, the company’s fleet management partners and associated vendors & suppliers. Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of Fleet Asset Management, including but not limited to:Â

  • Equipment procurement and enrollment in associated management systems with primary responsibilities for:
  • Lifecycle and cost management.
  • Service, Maintenance, and Inspection Certification programs.
  • Day to day management of the 1) Operational 2) Financial and 3) Telematics Fleet platforms.
  • Dependable, informed support of the Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) programs.
  • Reporting and forecasting on all aspects of an effective Fleet Management Program.
  • Coaching and support of Branches’ day-to-day operational Fleet needs.

The successful candidate will provide process-compliant support and guidance to corporate and regional management groups while maintaining healthy alliances with our essential business partners.

Job Duties

  • Oversight of basic administrative activities supporting Fleet Card management, Asset registrations, telematics and ELD user management.
  • Assist with development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a consistent corporate asset structure across the three primary management platforms.
  • Ensure accurate asset inventory and associated records are consistently maintained and readily available.
  • Provide day to day guidance and support to WTC Operations groups to ensure compliance to the Federally mandated ELD program (Knowledge of HOS & ELD (preferably Geotab) protocols would be considered noteworthy assets).
  • Day-to-day support and guidance to Branch Operations personnel, focusing on adherence to key Fleet Management processes.
  • Proactive review and update of processes as required.
  • Assist in implementation and effectively manage a robust asset scheduling program ensuring compliance to defined maintenance, inspection, and certification requirements.
  • Assist in development, lead implementation, and establish a sustainable records management process for essential testing, maintenance, and production tooling.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly reporting duties focusing on important Operational, Financial and Safety-related KPI’s.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

Prerequisites

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Post-Secondary education (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fleet coordination/management role.
  • Mechanical background and/or aptitude.
  • Experience working with fleet management partners such at ARI, Element, Enterprise, etc.
  • Understanding of interprovincial registrations, insurance, and other regulatory compliances for on-highway vehicles.
  • Basic understanding of corporate business finances and process management.
  • Comfortable with online business management, communication and training interactions involving a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Medium to advanced proficiency in Microsoft office products, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter able to work remotely, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Process oriented team player, open to new challenges with the ability to adapt to and promote change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity and professional ethics.
  • Attention to detail.

Work Conditions

  • Edmonton preferred, primarily remote office setting with the occasional requirement for in-office corroborations.
  • Fast-paced environment with highly variable demands and priorities.
  • Advanced time and priority management skills will be essential.
