POSITION SUMMARY:

Is responsible for customer shipments and ASNs being sent on a time restricted basis. Responsible for shipping documents and ensuring truck companies are notified of shipment. Quick decision making and communication skills will be beneficial to determine what quantities to ship, how to prioritize locations and how to proceed with line down critical situations if we cannot satisfy customer requirements 100%. To operate and maintain all programs, systems, and objectives as defined by the facility quality policy and espousing our Gates Quality Commitment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer releases are pulled daily. Shipping documents, BOL and customs documents necessary for customer shipments and border crossing are created. Ensure that shipments are made as per customer requirements considering date needed, shipping method and cost effectiveness are in consideration. Act as Customer service liaison for shipping companies to ensure customer shipments are made in a timely manner with tracking ability. Maintenance of customer files, websites, contacts and accuracy to ensure customer needs are met (for supplier ratings from customer). Stats Canada file is maintained and sent into stats Canada monthly. Analyze all customer releases for lead time and quantity violation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Three years of post-secondary in related field of equivalent experience with three years of experience in customer service and sales.
  • Experience in the automotive industry would be essential. Experience in developing customer relationships and inquiries.
  • Knowledge of SolarSoft, Ford, GM, Nissan, Subaru and Chrysler portals are essential

  • Experience in partnering with business leaders on developing and driving global initiatives.
  • High Level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence and coach across multiple levels within the company and locations; including establishing global partnerships.
  • Ability to staff and develop an effective and capable team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory environments
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Change management leadership capability
  • Experience with acquisition integration preferred.
  • Good organizational skills; professional telephone and communication skills;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are imperative.
  • Possess knowledge of data processing, e-mail, fax, and photocopy and Microsoft office including Excel.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and other ERP systems, such as Oracle.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and participate as a team player.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
