Job Description Qualifications:
Boeing Vancouver is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our Data Science team. The position will be based from our Richmond, British Columbia office; however, a hybrid work style is offered, allowing the candidate to work both virtually and in the office.
The Scrum Master will work closely with our Analytics leaders to lead data science development resources creating ground breaking Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products for internal, commercial and military customers. The Scrum Master will play a critical role in the fast paced, agile delivery of work items supporting capabilities in the production system.
Position Responsibilities:
Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and responsiveness to complete work and solve problems, with a drive to persevere when faced with ambiguity.
Scaled Agile Evangelist – Coach the team(s) with the SAFe principals, following the process and celebrations of the Scaled Agile Framework. Organizes and facilitates Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, iteration planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming and team demos.
Kanban Work Management and Prioritization – Work with the team to determine estimates for backlog work items and prioritize accordingly. Determine team capacity determine work. Help prepare and distribute progress reports and correct deviations from plans.
Drive team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, quality and removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members. Proactively removes or escalates roadblocks to allow team progress. Takes responsibility for managing dependencies between the Scrum team and others, collaborates within a local Scrum Master group especially with regards to items necessary for product release
Product Owner Support – Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance
Process Management and Improvement – Manage a well-defined agile software development process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management.
Team Building – Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
Metrics Tracking – Report and continually improve upon on a set of KPIs responding to trends for management action.
Quality Management – Ensure the teams are delivery first time quality
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Richmond, BC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
3 years of experience in a scrum master role
Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation is required
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required
Experience managing and facilitating large meetings is required
Experience with Agile practices and processes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
Scrum Master certification
Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Familiarity with Azure DevOPS or other product management tools
Understanding of how to use, analyze and present data in support of metrics and charting
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
