Your Role and Responsibilities
As DB2 DBA specialist, you are responsible to provide technical support with high degree of Customer Happiness by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

What will you do

  • Provide DB2 Administrative services to application development team.
  • Design/develop/test/support DB2 LUW database.
  • Plan, design, develop, test, and support database systems.
  • Perform regular database work and maintenance, such as storage management, import, export, load, access control, etc.
  • Provide technical analysis and recommendations.
  • Performance tuning and trouble shooting.
  • Troubleshooting problems by Analyzing DB2 system log
  • Write SQL scripts and enhance performance.
  • Prepare SQL and Unix Scripts for DB Maintenance and Project Work
  • Craft and Alter of DB2 object according to custom’s requirement (Ex: Database, Table space, Table, Index, etc.)
  • Configure and Trouble shoot DB2 Replication – Capture and Apply
  • 24×7 on call support rotation basis

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 7+ years of technical working experience as a DB2 LUW Database Administration
  • Supporting development/QA/non-functional testing/production environments
  • 5 + years Hands on Experience of DB2 HADR and Replication
  • 7 + years SQL Program Language Experience – as team also does development work
  • 5+ years of experience on Linux, AIX and Unix Scripting
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and Coordination Skills
  • Excellent Presentation Skills – able to translate technical standards/practices to customer.
  • Desire to keep up with new technology innovations

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Familiar with Oracle, or MSSQL Server Administration will be a plus
  • Knowledge on MF z/os DB2
  • Certification on DB2 v9 or higher

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
